Position Papers
Position papers are required for all delegations. Any delegate who does not submit a position paper will be ineligible to receive an award. Position papers must be submitted by the end of the first committee session. Position papers should be submitted in-person during the first session of the conference OR uploaded at the link below:
Delegates who want feedback on their position papers should specify this during submission. All position papers are subject to DistrictMUN’s plagiarism policy.
If you are having technical difficulties submitting through this form, you may email your position paper to BOTH j.willard@modelun.org & a.asudani@modelun.org.
Position paper formatting
Position Papers must follow these formatting guidelines:
Each position paper should be at-least one page single spaced.
Position papers should cover 1) the background that your country/position has with the topic(s), 2) your country/position’s official stance towards the issue, and 3) potential solutions that you might advocate for during the committee.
Position Papers must be in MLA or Chicago style formatting, including a Works Cited/Bibliography with either parenthetical or footnote citations. (Note: Works Cited do not count in the one page requirement)
Position Papers must be in 12-point Times New Roman font and include a header with the delegate name(s), nation, committee, and school.
Position Papers and Double Delegations
For double delegations, each delegate does not have to submit their own position paper, and instead one paper should be submitted per pair. If one school delegation has multiple pairs of students in a committee, each pair should submit their own position paper.
